North-East APC rejects suspension, expulsion of members

The North-East Zonal chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as null and void, all actions leading to suspension and or expulsion of its members.

National Vice Chairman, North East Alhaji Salihu Mustapha, stated this when he addressed journalists at the Zonal Secretariat of the APC in Bauchi

He said the zonal chapter also constituted a committee under the leadership of the former Governor of Bauchi State, Mal Isa Yuguda to look into issues of the conduct of the 2023 General elections in the state.

Mustapha said “I am here to intimate you of the happenings and tell you of the reasons we are here. We came to have a meeting with the EXCO of the party in Bauchi State comprising of the members of SEC and LGAs EXCO to assure them of the support of the National on all issues and cases they have in Bauchi State.”

He said “Also to form a committee that will review the outcome of the 2023 General elections which is chaired by a former Governor of Bauchi State, Mal Isa Yuguda who is to submit report in the next 2 weeks.

“We are also here to have the Zonal meeting to review some pending issues related to the 2023 General elections in the zone.

“We have received a lot of letters, some official, some unofficial of suspension, expulsion and some other measures of ostracisation of our members in various states of the zone.

“We want to look critically at all these issues, to know where the constitution was not followed and I want to assure you that all these people that have been allegedly suspended or expelled still remain valid and authentic members of the APC until and unless you duly followed the Constitution, you cannot suspend or expel any member.”

The National Vice Chairman further said that “We also want to admonish our members and other lower organs to be weary of being used, because henceforth, we will ensure that we decisively deal with any organ or person that purportedly suspend any member without following the due process and the constitution of APC.

“And, at this level, we want to assure you of our 100 percent support to run this zone in accordance with the constitution of the APC.”
