Nigerian journalist Ibrahim Abdulaziz dies, for burial Saturday

A Nigerian journalist Ibrahim Abdulaziz has died in a road accident along Bauchi Gombe road.

Abdulaziz, a correspondent of the Voice of America (VOA) Hausa service, will be buried tomorrow Saturday in Yola, Adamawa State.

Sources said Abdulaziz, who had a stint with Daily Trust, Premium Times, Radio Gotel, among others, was travelling to Bauchi for a wedding event when the accident occurred.

The Adamawa State NUJ said the burial has been fixed for Saturday 6 February 2021 by 2:00pm at Abuja road, near Atiku Abubakar’s staff quarters.

“The corpse leaves Bauchi early in the morning tomorrow Saturday for yola in company of Bauchi Council.

“Our members are expected to converge at NUJ any moment from 12:30 pm before proceeding to yola for the burial.

“All Chapels are directed to suspend union activities tomorrow in honour of our late Veteran,” Fidelis Jockthan, Secretary, said in the statement.
