Nigeria expects 4m doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine Tuesday

  • …as number of infections dropped for Saturday

Nigeria is expected to receive four million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines on Tuesday, the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

Boss Mustapha, who is also the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), disclosed this on Saturday.

This is even as the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 341 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, representing a sharp drop in number of daily infections.

Top on the list of states with reported cases for Saturday is Lagos with 96 infections, Rivers-41, Kaduna-33, Edo-21, Osun-20, Akwa Ibom-17, FCT-17 and Ondo-15.

Others are Gombe-11, Kano-11, Imo-10, Ekiti-9, Kebbi-9, Kwara-8, Oyo-8, Borno-6, Enugu-3, Plateau-3, Delta-1, Niger-1, and Ogun-1.

Thus far, Nigeria has recorded 155,417 confirmed cases of coronavirus since the first infection exactly one year ago, with 133,256 discharged and 1,905 deaths recorded.
