The Head of Media and Protocols of AAU, Victor Akinpelumi, had described the student’s death as unfortunate, saying “It is true that she committed suicide. We have not been officially briefed but the only details we have is that she took sniper and she was later rushed to the hospital.

“The doctor, who spoke with me, said those who brought her said they were close to her and that she was not involved in any relationship. So, why she did that to herself is what we are yet to know.”

The NCC, in a statement by its Director of Public Affairs, Dr Ikechukwu Adinde, said “It is our solemn and collective prayer that God grant her eternal peace and give the entire family of our Chairman the grace and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”

Meanwhile, Adekunbi Fasunle has expressed her frustration as to why her sister took the decision to end her life.

In a posting on her Facebook page, Adekunbi wrote:

I don’t know what I do to you that the next thing you have to do is to kill yourself.
You are always that beautiful sister that is so close to heart

Is it that bad that you have to do this yourself?
What are you really going through that you can’t confide in me

Heaven bear me witness, I ask you time to time, if you are okay, you will tell me you are fine

You will tell me, Sis, if I’m going through anything you will be the first I will talk to, then why don’t you talk to me before doing this.

This is too hard for me, this is so sad😫😫
I don’t know how to handle this

You are the most beautiful, most brilliant among us. I admire your intelligence always, but you didn’t do well this time.

You are selfish
You are too selfish

You didn’t consider all your loved ones before taking that tragic decision

You left me an everlasting wound that cannot be heal.

I don’t know what to do, I just wish you have spoken to me.

Why, why, why.
Is it really that bad Oluwaferanmi, is it.

Is it really that bad that you can’t endure.
Why now, why.

May God forgive you and grant you eternal rest aburo mi Feranmi Fasunle
