N111m fraud: EFCC presents 4 witnesses against ‘Mama Boko Haram’

...as court adjourns case against Ize-Iyamu, others to March 26

The trial of Aisha Alkali Wakil (also known as Mama Boko Haram) alongside Tahiru Saidu Daura and Prince Lawal Shoyade commenced on Monday, March 2, 2020 before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri.

Wakil, Chief Executive Officer of Complete Care and Aid Foundation, the Programme Manager, Daura, and the Country Director, Shoyade were arraigned on January 20, 2020 on a five-count amended charge, bordering on cheating and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of N111,650,000.

Meanwhile, Justice M. G. Umar of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City, Monday, March 2, 2020 adjourned the Money Laundering case brought against Pastor Osagie Ize -Iyamu, PDP governorship candidate in Edo State in 2016 election and four others by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to March 26.

The other four defendants are Lucky Imasuen, former deputy governor of Edo State, Chief Dan Orbih, PDP chairman in Edo State; Tony Aziegbemi and Efe Erimuoghae.

At the sitting on Monday, the prosecution counsel, Larry Aso Peters told the court of the prosecution readiness and prayed the court to order the defendants to take their plea.
