Leadership Newspapers Group, publishers of Leadership, Leadership Hausa, and LeVogue has named Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State as “Politician of the Year 2020”.
The award ceremony, attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Saad Abubakar III, among other dignitaries took place at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

The ceremony was part of the newspaper group’s annual conference, with a focus this time on security and consensus building.
Governor Buni was represented by his deputy, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana.
The award was presented on behalf of the Leadership Group by HRH the Emir of Keffi.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied by the State Assembly Speaker Hon Ahmed Lawan Mirwa, Senator Bomoi, members of the House of Representatives from Yobe State, the Head of Service, some members of the State Assembly, and five members of the State Executive Council, among other senior government officials.
