Late Sheikh Ja’afar’s son, friend die in car crash

Janaza to hold Sunday morning at Uthman bn Affan Mosque in Kano

Abdulmalik, a son of late Sheikh Ja’afar Adam, and his friend Umar Hussaini have died as a result of road accident, Dateline Nigeria reports.

Six of them were involved in the accident, which happened around Kankia in Katsina State, but only Abdulmalik and Umar died, while others were injured.

Abdulmalik, it was also learnt, just graduated from a Malaysian university. He is the third son of the late Islamic scholar.

Hisbah officials have gone to bring their remains back to Kano, but the Uthman bn Affan Mosque where the janaza will hold in Gadon Kaya is already overflowing with mourners.

The remains of the deceased arrived at 8.30pm and janaza prayers will hold Sunday morning.

As a result of the death, Chief Imam of Al-Furqan Mosque in Kano Dr Bashir Aliyu Umar announced the cancellation of today’s tafsir (commentary of the Holy Qur’an).

Dr Mansur Sokoto also said on his Facebook page that “We just received the news of the death of our son Abdulmalik Jafar Mahmud in a road accident. May Almighty Allah forgive him.”

Also commenting on the death, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Dr Isa Ali Pantami sent his condolences to the family and friends of Abdulmalik and prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive him and all our departed parents.
