Suspected kidnappers have shot dead Mallam Umar Isa, a lecturer with the School of Basic and Remedial Studies (SBRS) Funtua, Katsina State.
Dateline Nigeria learnt that the lecturer was shot dead on Monday by the gunmen in Malumfashi, about 50km from Funtua.
He has already been buried according to the Islamic right today in Funtua.
Attempt to reach the police in Katsina were not successful up to the time of filing this report.
A resident of Malumfashi, Bashir Yahaya, called on the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu to check the menace of Kidnapping/Armed Robbery in Kafur, Malumfashi, Funtua and other parts of Katsina State saying “they are becoming too rampant.”
