Keyamo loses driver to #EndSARS protests

Yohanna Shankuk, a driver to Minister of State for Labour and Employment Festus Keyamo, SAN, has died after he was overran by a motorist trying to avoid the #EndSARS protesters in Abuja.

Keyamo disclosed this on his twitter handle on Thursday, less than 24 hours after the incident.

“I regret to announce that my driver, Mr. Yohanna Shankuk, died yesterday in Abuja as a result of the protests.

“A vehicle that saw advancing protesters at Berger roundabout, made a U-turn, took the one-way back and ran over him as he was making his way on foot to my private office,” the minister said.

Dateline Nigeria reports that no fewer than four people were confirmed dead around the famous Berger Roundabout in Abuja on Wednesday following a clash between pro and anti-SARS protesters.

Motorists using the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway and the Herbert Macauley Way were forced to use alternative routes as the protesters barricaded both ways.
