The Kebbi State Government has distributed relief materials as well as cash to Fulani communities where vigilantes (‘Yan sakai) killed six people.
This is in fulfilment of the promise by Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu who paid a condolence visit to the affected communities in Ngaski Local Government area last Sunday,
The distribution which took place on Tuesday at Maikaho Community under the supervision of a committee chaired by Alhaji Shehu Aliyu (Marafan Yauri).
Other members were Chairman of Yauri, Hon Bala Muhammad Gagga, AC Nuhu N Darma (Yauri Area Commander), Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Jibril, Kanbuwa District Head, Alhaji Shehu Sani Maidamma (Dikkon Yauri) and Hon. Abdullahi Buhari Warra, the Chairman of Ngaski local Government as the Secretary of the committee.
Maikaho Village head and Wakilin Fulani was coopted into the committee.
Six Fulani hamlets namely: Rugar Wakili, Rugar Sarkin Fulani Sumaye, Rugar Wakili Ladan, Rugar Alhaji Gaga, Rugar Malan Jika, Rugar Alhaji Jamole received the palliatives.
According to the chairman, the committee was formed following the directives of the governor to make sure all the affected residents receive the palliatives, while the families of the six persons killed received financial assistance.
He said soon after the governor left the affected places in the night, the following morning he sent the relief items and directed judiciously distribution of the items. The items comprised food and financial assistance.
Some of the beneficiaries thanked the governor for fulfilling his promise to send the items promptly. Shehu Sani, a Fulani leader, expressed great joy and happiness for the kind gesture of the governor.
In the same vein, Wakili Sajo, another Fulani leader acknowledged the receipt of the items and thanked the governor for his concern.
The Chairman of Ngaski local government area Abdullahi Buhari also described the gesture of the governor as commendable.
Also, the Chairman of Yauri local government, Bala Muhammad Gagga and Kambuwa District head, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Jibril (Sardaunan Yauri) thanked governor Bagudu for the visit and the relief items.
