Katsina Speaker, SSG, others bag productivity awards

The Speaker, Katsina State House of Assembly Alh Tasi’u Musa Zango and the Secretary to the Katsina State Government Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa have received “Excellence In Leadership and Productivity” award from the National Productivity Centre, Abuja.

The award was presented to them at this year’s annual Nigerian Leadership and Productivity Summit organised by the National Productivity Centre under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment on Tuesday.

The Two Day Summit was being held at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Mambila Barracks, Abuja.

Other political office holders honoured from Katsina State include the Chief of Staff, Alh Muntari Lawal, Head of the Civil Service of the State, Alh Idris Usman Tune and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Human Capital Department.

Speaking before the presentation of the Awards, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Mr. Chris Ngige said that in its efforts to enhance productivity, Federal Government had recently created 774,000 jobs which would empower youths to contribute in the nation building.

The minister, who congratulated the awardees said that they were all chosen on merit, dedication to duty, diligent delivery of service in their respective capacities.

There were also some political appointees across the country that were honoured during the summit.

In his good will message, the Speaker, Katsina State House of Assembly, Alh Tasi’u Musa Zango commended the organisers of the event saying it would have positive impact on the performance of the awardees.

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, the Secretary to the Government of Katsina State, Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa described the award as an incentive to do more at their various offices.

Mustapha Inuwa said the Award was also a challenge to other political office hoders as well as civil servants to putting in their best in discharging their duties, knowing fully that a credible organisation under the Federal Ministry of Labour was monitoring their performance.

After the awards presentation, papers were also delivered by different scholars on management, civil service and productivity. Some diligent civil servants would also be honoured on Wednesday, during the Day 2 of the Summit.

Those to be honoured from Katsina State include the MD Katsina State Road Maintenance Agency-KASROMA, Engr Surajo Yazid Abukur, the Accountant General Anas Malik, Permanent Secretary, Government House, Falalu Bawale, that of Administration, office of the Head of the State Civil Service, Usman Isyaku and Abdullahi Abubakar Gagare from office of the Auditor General of the State.

Politicians, Traditional Leaders, Civil Servants, friends and and well wishers of the awardees witnessed the occasion. They include; member of the State Assembly representing Funtua Constituency, Hon. Abubakar Total, Yandakan Katsina, District Head of Dutsinma, Alhaji Sada Muhammad Sada and the Deputy Clerk of the House, Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf among others.
