A marshal of the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency (KASTLEA) escaped lynching on Tuesday morning after an accident that led to the damage of two vehicles.

Dateline Nigeria learnt that the marshal had arrested a Ford vehicle and was in the process of taking the motorist to the agency’s office when the accident occurred.

An eye witness told Dateline Nigeria that the KASTLEA marshal arrested the Ford owner around Swimming Pool Road in the Kaduna metropolis.

“The marshal entered the vehicle in an attempt to take the driver to their office. We don’t know what happened but the two started struggling shortly after the police college roundabout. The marshal held on to the steering wheel.

No life was lost in the accident

“As the two struggled, the Ford rammed into a Toyota Camry was parked in front of Furniture Plaza on Constitution Road. The driver of the Camry was inflating his tyre when the Ford hit his vehicle.

“The KASTELEA marshal was nearly mobbed by the crowd that gathered at the scene. He however succeeded in running into the nearby police Motor Traffic Division (MTD).”

Dateline Nigeria reports that KASTELEA marshals have been blamed for causing traffic accidents in the course of arresting erring motorists.
