Kano govt bans Sheikh Abduljabbar Kabara from preaching

Kano State Government has banned Kano cleric Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara from preaching or delivering sermons in any part of the state.

It also ordered the closure of his mosque situated in Filin Mushe in Gwale Local Government of the state.

The state Commissioner of Information Malam Muhammad Garba stated this while briefing journalists at the end of the State Executive Council meeting in Kano on Wednesday.

He said this followed reports received by the government over the cleric’s remarks which are capable of inciting the public.

The commissioner warned the cleric against inciting remarks on social media, while media organisations in the state have also been asked to stop using his preaching, which can ignite problem in the state.

The state government has since ordered the Kano State Commissioner of Police and other security agencies to enforce the government’s resolution.
