A bride-to-be in Kano, who was earlier thought to have been abducted few hours to her wedding, has narrated why she took the decision to disappear.
Amina Gwani Shamun Danzarga said she decided to run away because she had a change of mind about her groom and could not face her parents over it because she was the one who introduced Umar Hassan to them.
“After I introduced him to my parents, I suddenly had a change of mind,” Amina said, but was quick to add that “I now want to marry him because he has shown to the world that he really loves me”
Amina’s groom Umar Hassan could not be reached for comment. But he had said that he didn’t believe his bride will decide on her own to disappear but was probably deceived by friends.
The spokesman of the Kano State Police Command DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa also said Amina was not abducted as people were made to believe.
He said the police command is working to track all the places she had been to during the period she was declared abducted.
