The Minister of Power Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu, on Thursday performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of additional two unit of turbines by Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited (MESL), operator of the Kainji and Jebba Hydropower Plants.
The ceremony had the royal presence of the Etsu Nupe Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar and the Emir of Borgu Alhaji Muhammadu Haliru Dantoro.
The two turbines would generate additional 220 MW capacity to the Kainji plant, according to a statement by the minister’s media office.
