Kaduna police arrest two over killing of Sen Na’Allah’s son

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested two suspects over the killing of a pilot Captain Abdulkarim Ibn Na-Allah at his Malali residence in Kaduna.

According to the spokesman of the command ASP Mohammed Jalige gave the names of the suspects as Bashir Mohammed and Nasiru Salisu Balarabe a.k.a Uban-Daba, while a third suspect Usman a.k.a Dankano is now at large.

Briefing journalists on behalf of the Kaduna State Police Commissioner Mudassiru Abdullahi, the police spokesman said “On getting the report of the unfortunate incident, the Command immediately ordered for a full scale investigation to be carried out by the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) to unravel the circumstances of the dastardly act.

“The investigation has yielded a positive result with the arrest of the principal suspect as one Bashir Mohammed m’ who happened to be the immediate Neighbour to the deceased. He confessed that on the 28th August, 2021 at about 0100hrs, he gained access into the vicinity of the deceased residence while it was raining climbed the roof top and removed the nails of the roofing sheets to pave way for their next move which is to kill and steal the said vehicle.

“That on the 29th August, 2021 at about 0200hrs, Bashir Mohammed, Nasiru Salisu Balarabe a.k.a Uban-Daba and Usman a.k.a Dankano now at large invaded the house again and entered through the rooftop, hacked the deceased and made away with his Lexus Sport Utility Vehicle, Apple Ipad, Samsung Cell Phone, Three (3) fabric materials of different colours and Wrist Watches.

“The suspects confessed to have carried out the offence and further stated that the vehicle has been sold in Niger Republic at the rate of One Million Naira (N1,000,000) with the proceed shared amongst them. Investigation is ongoing with the aim of arresting the fleeing suspect and be charged to court for diligent prosecution.”

Jalige said the command apprehended 25 suspected criminal elements, recovered 10 different types of firearms including; English Pistol, Locally Made Pistols, Pump Action Riffles, Dane Gun, Locally Fabricated Ak47 Rifles as well as recovery of five Motor Vehicles of different brands.

“On the 4th August, 2021 at about 1700hrs, the Command received Intelligence that some suspected armed robbers were sighted around Nassarawa axis of Kaduna South Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

“On getting the information, Operatives immediately stormed the area and succeeded in arresting the following suspects, (1) Lawal Shehu (2) Abdulkarim Ismail, both ‘M’ of Nassarawa area of the State and recovered in their possession a Toyota Carina wagon with Reg. No. LKJ 144 AA.

“In the course of investigation, two additional vehicles were recovered; a Toyota Corolla with no registration number and Toyota Camry with Reg. No. APP 802 EE.

“In the same vein, on the 18th August, 2021 at about 2200hrs, four more suspects were apprehended at different addresses within Rigasa axis. They are; (1) Sanusi Suleiman (2) Aliyu Haruna (3) Yunusa Safiyanu and (4) Aminu Hassan all m. The following firearms recovered from them; Two (2) Pump Action Rifles, one Double Barrel, one Dane Gun and two Locally Made Pistols. However, the investigation has since been concluded and suspects are charged to court.

ARREST OF A NOTORIOUS ARMED ROBBER /KIDNAPPER:
On the 29th August, 2021 at about 0900hrs, based on a credible information Operation Yaki Surveillance Team with FIB STS Force Headquarter Abuja jointly raided a house at Ring Road Asikolaye area of Kaduna, where one Usman Abubakar ‘m’ 41 years old, a native of Adakpa Village Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, a Notorious kidnapper terrorizing Chikun, Igabi and Giwa Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.

He confessed to have kidnapped many people and collected several ransoms, he also has links with recent attacks on Greenfield University, Bethel Baptist Academy and School of Forestry Mechanization Mando Kaduna.

Investigation has since commenced and the suspect is currently assisting the Police with vital information on how to arrest his criminal accomplices.

ARREST OF A SYNDICATE OF FOUR (4) NOTORIOUS FOR THEFT OF TRUCK BATTERIES AND THE RECOVERY OF THEIR OPERATIONAL VEHICLE:
On the 31st August, 2021 the above mentioned case was brought to the State CID by Divisional Police Officer Tudun Wada Kadana along with the following suspects (1) Umar Musa a.k.a Okele (2) Auwal Abubakar a.k.a Kori (3) Ibrahim Suleiman a.k.a Rosy and (4) Zakariya Umar a.k.a Abba, all ‘m’ different addresses. Equally, transferred along with the suspects is a recovered Volkswagen Golf III Vehicle with Reg. No. DTF 408 AA. They have since confessed to the crime and admitted that the vehicle is used to facilitate their movement during and after the commission of the crime. Effort is however being exacted to apprehend their criminal receivers with the aim of bringing them all to book and putting an end to their current menace.

ARREST OF FOUR (4) SUSPECTS FOR CRIMINAL CONSIPIRACY, CULTISM AND BEING IN POSSESSION OF FIREARMS:
On the 31st August, 2021 at about 1700hrs the Operatives of the Command acted on a reliable intelligence and succeeded in arresting four (4) students of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Kaduna namely; (1) Raphael Okelole a.k.a Dada (2) Shittu Habib (3) Nathan Likita and (4) Jesse Joel a.k.a Sniper all ‘m’ and of whom belongs to the Black Axe and Blue Bird Cult Groups.

During investigation, one English and two locally made pistols were recovered from them as they confessed to being members of the aforementioned cult groups in the institution. They have availed the Police with useful information that will assist in arresting other cult members and recovery of their weapons. Investigation has been completed and the suspects were since charged to court.

CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, IMPERSONATION AND ARMED ROBBERY:-
On the 3rd September, 2021 at about 0900hrs one Mustapha Maiwada ‘m’ of Numbu, Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State reported at Gwantu Police Divisional Headquarters that on the 2nd September, 2021 at about 1000hrs one Corporal Titus Kumbu ‘m’ attached to Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) Headquarters Abuja and one Mubarak Abubakar ‘m’ of Anguwan Numbu conspired and presented themselves as Military Personnel newly posted to Operation Safe Heaven Sanga.

The said Titus Kumbu who actually works with the NSCDC and his co-conspirator asked Mustapha Maiwada to convey them to Anguwan Nungu Village on his Bajaj Motorcycle.

While on transit to the said destination, they threatened him with a knife and snatched away his Motorcycle.

In the course of investigation, a Police Camouflage Uniform was found in the bag of Titus Kumbu. The case is undergoing a discreet investigation at the State CID.

CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, CRIMINAL TRESPASS AND KIDNAPPING:-
On the 7th September, 2021 at about 0002hrs one Idris Yakubu ‘m’ of Antor Village in Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State reported at Gwantu Police Divisional Headquarters that at the same date at about 2330hrs some unknown gunmen came to his house and kidnapped four (4) of his family members namely; (1) Suhaila Ahmad ‘f’ (2) Sudais Ahmad ‘m’ (3) Huwaila Ahmad ‘f’ and (4) Idris Ahmad ‘m’ to an unknown destination.

The kidnappers later called the victim’s relations through an unsaved phone number and demanded for the sum of Ten Million Naira (N10,000,000.00) within 24hrs as ransom to secure their release, otherwise one among the victims will be killed.

On the receipt of the information a joint team of Police Operatives and that of Vigilantes swung into action and succeeded in rescuing all the four (4) victims unhurt and arrested three (3) suspects as follows; (1) Mohammed Ibrahim ‘m’ (2) Babangida Abubakar ‘m’ and (3) Suleiman Yau ‘m’, all of Gindin Akwati Village Plateau State.

The suspects have since confessed to the offence and are currently under further investigation at the State CID.

ARREST OF TWO (2) SUSPECTS FOR CRIMINAL CONSIPIRACY AND ARMED ROBBERY AND THE RECOVERY OF ONE MOTOR VEHICLE:
On the 9th September, 2021 at about 1815hrs the Operatives of the Command received information that some criminal elements were around Kawo Bridge Kaduna which they immediately swung into action and successfully arrested the following suspects; (1) Abdullahi Umar a.k.a Dan-Malam Dodo and (2) Faruk Sani a.k.a Uziri Dan-Mamman. Both ‘m’ who reside in different locations within Kawo Area. A Sharon Motor Vehicle with Reg. No. SBG 777 XA was recovered from them.

The suspects confessed to have on the 8th September, 2021 at about 2312hrs conspired with three others currently at large and robbed one Sanusi Mohammed m’ of Maiyasa Village of Zurmi LGA Zamfara State of his Smartphone valued at Forty Thousand Naira (N40,000.00) and the cash sum of Eighteen Thousand Naira (N18,000.00).

The incident occurred while the said victim was on transit on his motorcycle along Kaduna-Zaria road. Investigation is currently ongoing, suspects will soon be arraigned before a court for prosecution.

BEING IN POSSESSION OF A FABRICATED AK47 RIFFLE WITH TEN (10) ROUNDS OF 7.62 X 39mm LIFE AMMUNITION:-
On the 10th September, 2021 at about 2200hrs, Divisional Police Officer Gwantu was in receipt of a reliable information that one Yakubu Shuaibu ‘m’ of Maisamari Village Sanga LGA of Kaduna State is in possession of a Locally Made AK47 Rifle with Ten (10) rounds of 7.62 X 39mm Live Ammunition. On receiving the information, Police Detectives immediately visited the house of the suspect.

On their arrival they discovered that the suspect wasn’t home but met his wife one Suwaiba Yakubu f, who on realizing that they were Police Officers denied the allegation against her husband.

However, on the course of investigation a search was conducted in the house and the aforesaid exhibits were found and recovered inside the said wife’s room.

The suspect Yakubu Shuaibu is still at large, serious manhunt has been put in place for his arrest. Meanwhile the case is presently with the State CID for a full scale investigation.

FOILED BANDITRY ATTACK AND NEUTRALISATION OF ONE NOTORIOUS BANDIT:
On the 16th September, 2021 at about 0700hrs the Command received a distress call that on the same date at about 0545hrs armed bandits in large number blocked Kaduna-Abuja highway close to a bridge along Kasamari village and were berserkly shooting at motorists.

The Command immediately mobilized personnel of Operation Puff Adder 1 at Rijana Nipping Point and they responded swiftly and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel, which resulted in the dead of one of the bandits while others scampered into the forest with varying degrees of gun wounds.

Unluckily, a commercial driver and his conductor of a vehicle with Reg. No. Lagos KDR 602 XF were cut up in the crossfire and both also lost their lives. The security risks levels have been raised and all personnel at Nipping Points along the said expressway are placed on Red Alert to prevent any threat or further attack.

Meanwhile, motorists are plying the road freely. The neutralised bandit’s corpse will be recovered to the Command Anti-Kidnapping Unit for profiling and forensic analysis while those of the driver and his conductor have been deposited at St. Gerald Hospital Kakuri.

Gentlemen I feel elated to address you this afternoon and I assure you that Kaduna Police Command is committed to doing everything humanly possible to ensure peace is restored in the State and we soliciting for more cooperation in the area of intelligence sharing and prompt report of incidence or suspicious person(s) as crime is better tackled collectively and proactively.
