Kaduna govt gives BDC shopowners 72-hour quit notice

Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) has given Bureau De Change (BDC) shopowners 72 hours to remove their valuables and vacate Club road and Hamdala Hotel premises.

This is contained in a quit notice signed by the Director General, KASUPDA, Ismail Umaru Dikko, dated September 9, 2021.

The notice said, “In line with Kaduna State Urban Renewal Programme/Commercial Corridor Upgrade Layout Design for Muhammadu Buhari Way (Waff Road) by the Technical Committee, a site (Kaduna Club) was identified along the route for Shopping Mall/Plaza to accommodate all Bureau De Change operators on Club Road and within Hamdala Hotel premises.

“In view of the above, you are advised to remove all your valuables and vacate the site within 72 hours with effect from the date of receipt of this notice.

“Failure to adhere with the above directives will be left with no option than demolish the structures at your own expense in accordance with section 62 of the above mentioned.”
