Kaduna govt fires NUT president over competency test

Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) has fired the National President of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) Comrade Audu Titus Amba for not taking the competency test conducted for teachers.

Amba became the president of NUT in May this year after his predecessor Nasir Idris resigned to run for political office in Kebbi State.

Dateline Nigeria had exclusively reported how about 6,000 primary school teachers who did not take the test are panicking as the government commenced issuing dismissal letters.

Comrade Amba had in 2017, on behalf of the NUT and himself, filed a case against the state government challenging the conduct of the competency test in June of the same year.
