Justice Maikaita Bako dies in Abuja

Justice Ibrahim Maikaita Bako of the Katsina State High Court, who was involved in a road accident a week ago, has passed on in an Abuja hospital where he was receiving treatment.

Bako died Sunday morning at the Cedar Crest Hospital Abuja where he was taken to after the accident along Funtua-Kankara road in Katsina State penultimate Saturday.

The Chief Judge of the Katsina State, Justice Musa Danladi, who confirmed the death of Justice Bako, said “He suffered serious spinal and neck injuries and had been in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).”

He said the deceased’s funeral prayers and burial will hold in Abuja after Zuhr prayers.

Justice Bako, who hailed from Funtua, was the judge handling the case of Katsina State former governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema versus the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged diversion of N11bn local government funds.
