Gunmen believed to be bandits running away from military action in Zamfara State have attacked a community in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Residents said the gunmen stormed the community around 8pm on Friday.
One of the residents said the gunmen killed one person, shot two others, seized some motorcycles and looted food items.
Dateline Nigeria learnt that the gunmen were engaged by soldiers and vigilante members in Tangaza, forcing them to beat a retreat.
