The police in Kano said they have launched investigation into the alleged suicide committed by a 22-year old man after his girlfriend refused to marry him.
The young man allegedly ended his own life on Thursday.
The spokesman of the Kano State Police Command DSP Haruna Abdullahi said they have received a report that one Ashiru Musa, a resident of Danrimi, had stabbed himself for not succeeding in marrying a lady identified as Fatima.
The policr said Musa Sani, Ashiru’s father, was the one who reported the matter to the police, but the young man was certified dead after they took him to Murtala General Hospital.
DSP Haruna said they received the report around 9pm.
