The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) Abba Kabir Yusuf as the winner of the Kano State governorship election
Yusuf polled a total of 1, 019, 602 votes to defeat his closest rival and Kano State Deputy Governor Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 890, 705 votes.
