Indian woman missing for 11 years was secretly living next door to parents

An 18-year-old Indian woman who went missing 11 years ago has been found living with her lover in the house next door to her parents.

In a grown-up version of the five-year-old who ‘runs away from home’ but only gets as far as the end of the street, the woman – known as Sajitha – moved in with the then-24-year-old Alinchuvattil Rahman, just 500m from her family home in Kerala.

Rahman’s parents, who share the house with him, were reportedly unaware that they were also sharing it with Sajitha. She lived in a single room with him for the entire time, which he kept locked whenever other people were present.

The couple’s secret was uncovered after Rahman also went missing, three months ago. When his older brother spotted him, the trail led to a house they were renting in another village.
The brother, Basheer, said.

‘Sometimes he behaved like a mentally deranged person, would turn violent if someone tried to get into his room. He would even take his food in to eat… During the day, as everyone was at work, Rahman and Sajitha would have the house to themselves.’

For all romantics and claustrophobes out there, there’s a happy ending to the story. A local court has allowed the lovers to live together – and leave their house – after Sajitha said she wanted to be with Rahman. (RT.com)
