The wedding of Hanan Buhari and Muhammad Turad Shaaban held on Friday inside the presidential villa under strict observance of the Covid-19 protocols to avoid spread of the disease.
Hanan is a daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari while Turad is a son of former House of Representatives member Sani Shaaban.

The Chief of Imam of Aso Villa solemnised the wedding in the presence of family members and friends of the couple. The Emir of Gwandu Muhammad Ilyasu Bashar gave the permission for Hanan’s hand to be given in marriage to Turad. It was received by the Emir of Zazzau, who was represented by the Ciroman Zazzau.
The wedding was attended by dignitaries including the Governor of Yobe State and caretaker Chairman of the APC Mai Mala Buni, the Oni of Ife, among others.
Commenting on the wedding, the First Lady Aisha Buhari, who posted a video on her Instagram page, said “Today is a great and happy day for my family as we witnessed the wedding of my daughter, Aisha Hanan Buhari to Mohammed Turad Sani Sha’aban.
“I am ovewhelmed by the outpour of goodwill and support from family, friends and well wishers. Let me use this opportunity to thank everyone that graced the occasion with their presence and those that could not, for the understanding that at this time of a global pandemic and the need to strictly adhere to the advice of our health authorities necessitated limited gathering.
“We appreciate your prayers for a blessed union, for the couple as they begin their marital life.”
Hanan is a graduate of Photography from Ravensbourne University in England, while Turad, a graduate in finance and management as well as holder of two masters degrees, is the Wakilin Tudun Wada, Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A pre-wedding event held Thursday night in Abuja and pictures of the couple were released by the First Lady Aisha Buhari on Friday.
