Hisbah warns aphrodisiacs seller against indecent language
The Kano State Hisbah Boad has confirmed the arrest of a man accused of selling aphrodisiac herbs in the state.
The board said the man was fond of using indecent language in marketing his products.
A senior official of the board, Malam Muhammad Albakari, told the BBC that the man was also fond of indulging in immoral acts in the course of his trade.
The herbs seller ply his trade at the Kofar Wambai market in the heart of Kano city, where he uses loud speakers to call the attention of people.
The Hisbah official added that they arrested the man following complaints by people of the area about his immoral acts.
Albakari said the man was taken to their office where he was counselled, showing why his language was unacceptable.
He said the young man’s parents were present during the counselling session. “We gave him some guidelines to abide by to avoid prosecution.
Attempts to reach the herbs seller were unsuccessful.
