Guards Brigade assures FCT residents of adequate security

The Headquarters Nigerian Army Operations Monitoring Team in charge of Army Headquarters Garrison and Guards Brigade Area of Responsibility led by Major General Yusuf Yahaya have expressed satisfaction with the level preparation ahead of the 2023 General Elections within the Federal Capital Territory and it’s environs.

The team made this known today 24 February 2023, when they visited the Commander Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Aminu Umar in his office at the Brigade Headquarters Aguyi Ironsi Cantonment Asokoro Abuja.

On arrival the team leader after the Brigade operational brief expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation and deployment of troops by the Brigade and units under command adding that the public would be more confident to exercise their franchise when the feel secured at their various voting locations.
He urged the Brigade to remain vigilant so as to avert any election crises that may pop up during or after the exercise.

Maj Gen Yusuf who also doubles as the Director Manpower , Department of Personnel Management assures the Brigade of the Chief of Army Staff’s commitment towards
ensuring a hitch free elections within the Federal Capital Territory and it’s environs and by extension the entire country.

In his response, the Commander Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Aminu Umar while appreciating the team assured them that all officers and personnel have been adequately prepared for the election in collaboration with sister security agencies adding that every hand is on deck to ensure a successful conduct of the election at all levels within the Federal Capital Territory and it’s environs.

He further assures the team and the general public of the Brigade readiness to swiftly respond to any unforeseen situation that may lead to public disturbance while calling on all law abiding citizens to go all out and exercise their voting right.
