Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has held discussions with a United Kingdom based medical equipment procurement specialists, Orchad Medical Limited.
The discussions were meant to explore the range of advanced medical equipment that the Yobe State Government could possibly procure from the UK to improve the delivery of quality medical services across the state, an official said on Monday.
The governor met with a representative of Orchad Limited, Mr Agboola Ayodeji at the Four Seasons Hotel at Park Lane, London today, Yobe State Commissioner for Information Abdullahi Bego said.
During the meeting, presentations were made by medical equipment manufacturers, including the company called BRAUN which was established since 1848 and is, to this day, a reputable and leading medical equipment manufacturing brand.
The discussions also focused on equipment that could be custom-made for Yobe State to ensure functionality and durability over the long term.
The four-track approach of the Buni administration to the development of Yobe State puts emphasis on education, agriculture, healthcare and youth empowerment as the key sectors with the most capacity to transform the state rapidly.
