Gov. Buni pledges more support for military

...as New Army commander assumes duty in Damaturu

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has pledged to continue to support the military and other security agencies as they step up effort to tackle the Boko Haram Insurgency and other criminal activities in the state.

The governor saluted the army, the airforce, police, civil defence, state security service and the vigilantes for their gallantry and effort to ensure security across the state, saying they have the thanks of the government and people of Yobe State.

The governor spoke late afternoon today when the new Commander, Sector 2 of the Operation Lafiya Dole of the Nigerian Army, Major General Suleiman Idriss paid courtesies on him at the Government House, Damaturu.

Governor Buni assured the army commander that he would continue to support the military in every way possible to help them succeed in fully restoring peace and security across the state.

Major General Idris told the governor that he’s encouraged by the cordial working relationship that the army and other security agencies have with the Yobe State Government. He said the Nigerian army is fully committed to ensuring peace and security throughout the state, the North-East and the rest of the country.
