Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya was in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital where he paid a condolence visit to former Governor of Gombe State and Senator representing Gombe Central Senatorial District, Sen. Muhammad Danjuma Goje who lost his elder brother, Alhaji Ahmadu Goje.
Governor Yahaya was received on arrival by Governor of Taraba state, Arch. Darius Ishaku and his Deputy, Hon. Haruna Manu at the Government House before proceeding to the residence of the deceased at Bakin Kasuwa, Jalingo in company of the Taraba Deputy Governor.
The Governor told the grieving family that the late Alhaji Ahmadu’s death was a personal loss to him in view of the close relationship that existed between him and the deceased when he was alive.
“However, as Muslims we must take solace in the fact that what Allah Has taken belongs to him and to Him belongs what He granted and He Has an appointed time for everything “.
He said he was deeply saddened by the demise of Alhaji Ahmadu, whom he described as an upright man and exemplary father who sacrificed a lot for his family and the community he lived in.
“Although I had earlier issued a statement of condolence and also visited our mother in Gombe to commiserate with her, I’m also here personally leading a Government delegation in honour of the deceased, whom I shared close acquaintance with and to also identify with our leader and brother, Distinguished Senator Danjuma Goje and his entire family in this moment of grief.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Gombe state, we convey our deepest condolences to you and we seek Allah’s mercy upon the deceased and may He grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
Responding, Senator Danjuma Goje appreciated the visit by the Governor, saying ” Your Excellency, on behalf of our family, I wish to sincerely thank you for personally leading almost the entire Government of Gombe state to Jalingo to come and condole with us. Your Excellency, you have indeed proven to be a good brother. We remain eternally grateful for this show of love”.
On the entourage of the Governor were the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, members of the state Assembly, Secretary to the state Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari,Gombe State APC Chairman, Mr. Nitte Amangal, Commissioners, PPS, Special Advisers and other aides.
