GOC orders arrest of military personnel who violate Kaduna ban on motorcycles

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Div Kaduna has ordered the arrest of military personnel who violate the Kaduna State Government ban on the use of motorcycles in the state.

In an internal message sent to all the military formations in the state, all commanders were directed to enforce the ban by the government.

The message said as a disciplined organisation, the Nigerian Army must not be part of the irresponsible act of violating the ban.

“The Nigerian Army must be seen to manifestly contribute to efforts to tackle insecurity and not frustrate such efforts,” the message said.

All commands have been directed to warn their personnel from operating motorcycles in the state whether in uniform or mufti.

The commanders have also been directed to commence aggressive operation to checkmate and arrest anyone violating the ban.

Additionally, it said, no personnel is to be allowed to leave any military facility on motorcycle.
