Gbajabiamila visits site, victims of Lagos explosion

Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila has visited the site of the Abule Ado Explosion in Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos where he saw the extent of the havoc caused by the blast.

The speaker who was accompanied by some members of the green chamber said “My heart goes out to victims and their loved ones , the people of Abule Ado and the people and govt of Lagos.”

The speaker assured the people, especially the families of the victims, that the government won’t abandon them irrespective of the party they belonged to, even as he said action would be taken.

The explosion reportedly killed 15 people including a school principal, and destroyed more than 50 houses.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said the explosion followed the hitting of gas cylinders by truck in the area.
