Ganduje to launch mass cattle and small ruminants vaccination campaign

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State will on Sunday, 4th April 2021, launch the state-wide mass cattle and small ruminants (sheep and goats) vaccination campaign.

The occasion will take place at Dansoshiya, Kiru local government by 9:00 and will continue in the 484 wards across the 44 local government areas of the state, for 10 days subsequently.

The vaccination will focus on major diseases undermining the productivity and health of livestock in the state, according to a statement on Friday by Ameen K. Yassar, Project Communication Specialist.

Already, the Kano State Agro Pastoral Development Project, KSADP, in collaboration with the Kano State Ministry of Agriculture, has trained 520 inoculators who will conduct the vaccination, under the supervision of 25 Veterinary doctors.

The vaccination is sponsored by the Islamic Solidarity Fund, ISFD, the poverty alleviation arm of the Islamic Development Bank Group, the Lives and Livelihood Funds, LLF, and the Government of Kano state.
