Ganduje meets market leaders over price hike on essential commodities

Worried by the price hikes of essential commodities in the state during Ramadan Fasting and the hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje met with market leaders, with the view to finding solutions.

The meeting was held at Africa House, Government House, Kano, Wednesday evening, promising the business community that he would do his best to come to their aid after voicing out the hardship, they too, face before and during this trying moment.

Governor passed to them complaints by citizens over the multiple hardship they face in price hikes of essential commodities, during this Ramadhan period and the trying moment in the face of COVID-19.

He said ” I heard all your complaints, particularly on how officials of Customs and Excise follow your goods to markets, as you have just lodged your complaints. I have been talking to authorities and I shall continue doing that.”

After giving them all the listening ears, they deserved, he assured that, “On the issue of sugar prices, I will talk to Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Alhaji Abdussamad Isyaka Rabi’u. I will surely get back to you for the result of our discussions.”
