Ganduje backs APC leadership on Edo politics

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state, puts his weight behind the national Headquarters of All Progressives Congress (APC) on Edo state political development.

He argued that the party is more worried about legality than any other consideration. The APC had disqualified Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki citing discrepancies in his certificates.

Ganduje spoke during media interactive session with working journalists in the state, held at Africa House, Government House, Kano, Monday.

“Our party, the APC, is very conscious about legality aspect of it. Not any other consideration. You remember Bayelsa state governorship election? We won the election, but the issue of legality took away that victory from us,” he argued.

Governor Ganduje explained further that, “We are more worried about legality. I am sure that the national headquarters of our party is doing what it takes to win the election. We have all our strategies in place.”

The governor challenged that, such political ups and downs are very common in politics, adding that “What is happening there, is nothing to be afraid of, thinking whether it could cause any harm. There is nothing like that, we are putting everything in place to get our victory.”
