The Vice- Chancellor Federal University Dutse, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo Muhammed has commended theJigawa state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Badaru Abubakar over his partnership with National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and Youth Coalition for Development to train 250 mathematics teachers across the three senatorial district of the state.
He made the commendation during a good will message he delivered at the flag off of the three days training at the Ahmadu Bello Conference hall.
He said mathematics is critical in development of science and technology adding that retraining of maths teachers in the latest methods of teaching the subject will go a long way to improve their knowledge and skills of teaching the subjects.
He thanked the Youth Coalition for Development for coming with such a lofty idea that will benefit the society at large while commending NITDA for providing the needed support for the training.
The VC said the recent training of English teachers in the state is a step in the right direction adding that with quality teachers, students in the state will find it easy to pass their WAEC and NECO.
