FUD already missing Prof. Fatima – VC

The Vice-Chancellor Federal University Dutse (FUD), Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo Muhammed has said that less than a week after the handover of the former VC Prof Fatima Batul Mukhtar, the institution is already feeling her absence.

The VC who made the remark at the sendoff ceremony organized by the Student Union Government in honor of the former VC, said because of the dedication, passion and unprecedented achievements she brought to the university, it will take a long time before they get use to her absence.

He thanked the SUG for organising the event adding that Prof. Fatima deserved all the accolades because she has transformed FUD into a center of excellence in the last five years.

In his remark the Chairman of the occasion and Vice- Chancellor Kano State University of Science and Technology, Prof. Shehu Alhaji Musa said the successful transition in the university is a sign that the former VC’s tenure ended well.

He said Prof. Fatima has left an indelible mark in the sand of time at FUD adding that she has represented the womenfolk well and her achievements are glaring for everyone to see.

Earlier in his remark the SUG President Comrade Muhammad Tasiu Abbas said they decided to celebrate the former VC because of her outstanding achievements during her tenure adding that the concept of the magazine they produced was to showcase the projects executed under her tenure.

Over N1 million was realised from the magazine launching.

The former VC, Prof Fatima Batul Mukhtar in her remarks expressed her happiness with the reception organized for her by the students. She said her students were her priority during her tenure adding that she takes issues concerning water and electricity which affect students directly seriously.

She thanked the council, principal officers, members of management, staff and students for the cooperation and support extended to her during her tenure.
