Foundation educates Bauchi communities on hypertension, paralysis

Bauchi State Hypertension and Paralysis Foundation (BASHYPF) has educated 1,020 people from Bauchi, Alkaleri and Misau local government areas on the dangers of hypertension and paralysis diseases.

Chairman of the Foundation Comrade Tijjani Yusuf Aliyu stated this while briefing the Emir of Misau in his palace during an advocacy visit to the Misau community.

He said hypertension, paralysis are among the dangerous diseases that killed many people if they are not proactive.

Tijjani said research revealed that 36.8 percent of people in Northern Nigeria have the problem of hypertension while Bauchi accounts for 6.9 percent of the disease

He said if people are proactive and take their medicine as and when due and heed medical advice they will live a long and healthy life.

The Emir of Misau Alhaji Ahmed Suleiman urged his subjects to embrace all health care advice they have been receiving from health experts.

The emir pledged to give their maximum support to the foundation and assured them that his door is always open for them.

Many of the beneficiaries interviewed expressed their gratitude to the foundation for testing their health status and giving them one month medicine free of charge.
