Former Kano emir Sanusi backs Ganduje on Abduljabbar Kabara

Former Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II has thrown his weight behind the decision of Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to ban Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara from preaching.

Dateline Nigeria reports that Abduljabbar, a son of late Qadiriyya leader Sheikh Nasiru Kabara, is being accused of blasphemy against the prophet and inciting the public.

The former monarch spoke in Hausa during his weekly lecture, a video of which is being shared on social media.

Sanusi also urged the people of Kano to make it clear to the world that they will not accept any path other than that on which they were placed by Shehu Usman Danfodio, the path of Alhus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah.

“Whoever tries to introduce anything to the contrary should be made to know that Kano will never serve as his markaz (centre). The scholars in Kano have done well and should remain steadfast. People should also maintain the peace.

“The decision taken by the authorities, by the governor is commendable and they should be supported,” he said.
