A former Minister of Education Alhaji Dauda Birma has died in the early hours of Tuesday, his son has said.
Musa Dauda Birma, in a Facebook post, said “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihin rajiun, I lost a part of me that can never be replaced. May Allah swt forgive your sins and grant you jannah.”
Born on July 21, 1940 in Garkida, Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Dauda Birma served in various capacities in the government of the old Northern Region.
Birma, who was the Waziri of Garkida, was a two-time presidential aspirant. He served as education minister under late Head of State General Sani Abacha.
