For Ozigizaga, it ain’t about politics, it’s the passion to serve

Something funny happened on the Nigeria political scene in the year 2015 which exposed the other side of some of our politicians.

A gubernatorial candidate (name withheld) in one of the South-west states, after losing at the elections, took the time to identify communities that did not vote for him after all he had done to secure their votes and thereafter, sent his thugs to go and retrieve the transformers he donated to the communities.

For some politicians, that is the underlying interest for embarking on projects: to woo the gullible for their selfish interests.

But for Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo, the Honourable Member representing Ado/ Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency of Benue State, the motive for all the laudable projects he has done for his constituency was never about elections, it was borne out of passion to serve the people.

Hence even after, the Supreme Court gave judgement in favour of his opponent in the PDP primary, which unfortunately, did not allow him contest in the general elections, he did not stop the good works he has been doing for his people.

Instead of retrieving, he is giving, and instead of relenting, he is continuing with the good works.

It is in record that even before he went to the Green Chamber of the National Assembly he had personally sponsored many projects for the benefit of his people.

On Wednesday, about two weeks after the National Assembly elections have been concluded and a winner declared, the Ozigizaga of the masses and the people’s Ubagidi continued working for the people.

He had promised the people of Izzi, one of the communities in his constituency that he was going to ensure they also enjoy power supply before the end of his first tenure.

He fulfilled that promise on Wednesday when he commissioned a rural electrification project in Onebor Community.

On his was to commission the project, he stopped over at Igumale to inspect the ongoing construction of the NDLEA Area Command.

The people of Enone need no further proof that their representative is driven by the passion to serve and not was not mere politicking when he was working round the clock to attract development to his constituency.

A different kind of political leader he is.
