FG won’t pay ransom for abducted Kagara students – Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed says Government has ruled out the option of paying ransom for the release of abducted students of Government Science College Kagara in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

The Minister of Information and Culture who stated government’s position while featuring on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily’ in Abuja said “All these stories about ransom, are conspiracy theories”.

According to him, no ransom was paid for the release of the abducted Kankara schoolboys in Katsina State and the Dapchi schoolgirls in Yobe State.

Alhaji Lai explained that bandits and terrorists work with the psychology of people and they deliberately attack mostly women and children because they believe that is what is going to attract global outcry.

He warned that “solidarity in any form will not be tolerated by this government”.

On Wednesday, armed men attacked Government Science College Kagara in Rafi Local Government area of Niger State and abducted unknown number of students and teachers, while at least one person was reportedly killed.
