FG inaugurates committee to restructure power ministry

The Minister of Power Eng Sale Mamman on Thursday inaugurated a committee on the restructuring of the Federal Ministry of Power and oversight of its agencies.

The committee is to be chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack.

Mamman was joined by the Minister of State for Power Goddy Jedy Agba at the ceremony which held at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja.

Other members of the committee include representatives from relevant Departments, Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, and aides to the ministers.

He tasked the committee with establishing the modalities that will inform implementation of the restructuring within the ministry’s relevant departments, units and oversight of its agencies.

Also at the event were heads of Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN), Nigeria Electricity Liability Management Company (NELMCO), Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Rural Electrification Agency (REA) as well as directors from the ministry and other stakeholders.
