Dr Ladan was February 4, 2017 appointed the provost of FCE Zaria. Before his appointment, he was at the Department of Psychology, School of Education, F.C.E., Zaria.

Dateline Nigeria had in February this year did a story on the uncertainty in FCE Zaria over the appointment of provost after the expiration of Dr Ladan’s tenure on 4th February, 2021.

In the absence of formal communication reappointing Dr. Ladan for a second term, the Deputy Provost of the college, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, assumed the duties of the provost in acting capacity.

The staff union had opposed a second term for Dr. Ladan, accusing him of neglecting the welfare of staff, among others.

When contacted, Dr. Ladan said “Some people are not happy that I became provost for the first time. I have maintained sealed lips since I asked my deputy to oversee the affairs of the college pending the decision of the federal government and I would continue to maintain that position.”
