Dr Ahmad Gumi tasks Muslims on unity as Funtua Islamic school graduates 47

Kaduna-based Islamic scholar Dr. Ahmad Gumi has counselled Muslims on the importance of unity.

Gumi spoke during the Qur’anic memorization ceremony of the students of Madrasatu Uthman Bin Affan Alwassiyya, Funtua, Katsina State.

A total 47 students memorized the Holy Qur’an, comprising 12 males, 28 females and married women.

The Islamic cleric urged the memorizers to used the knowledge acquired towards positive changes in the society.

He said “people should fear Allah, tell the truth and counsel others to do good things”.

The Director of the School Malam Zubairu Allaramma, who was represented by Alh Rayyana Sule Funtua, also urged the memorizers to positively utilize the Qur’anic knowledge they acquired.

He said “the Qur’an is a guide to mankind, hence all their actions should be guided by the Holy Qur’an”

Sheikh Mustapha Alwassiyya, the School Principal, traced the history of the school, saying it started with only two classrooms built as a donation in 1992 by late elder Ibrahim Nature Funtua as a sadaqatul jariyya to late Hajiyya Aishatu Nabature.

“From two classes now the school has 15 classrooms accommodating 700 students,” the Principal said.

He also used the opportunity to call on wealthy individuals to help the school to fulfill it’s plan for constructing at least one or two story building to enable the school accommodate it’s students conveniently.

Alh. Ibrahim Alkali, who is the School ‘s PTA Chairman, urged parents to continue to do everything possible to ensure the success of their children education.

He also called the attention of wealthy individuals to help children of the less privileged in the society.

Dr. Salisu Hassan, Alh. Ali Mani, Alh.Gazali and Alh. Sunusi, as members of the organizing committee, jointly called for the integrating of the Islamiyya education with entrepreneurship skills, such as computer, tailoring, etc.

Alh. Aminu Lawal, who represented the Commissioner of Water Resources Alh. Musa Adamu, assured the school managemeny of support at all times.

He advised parents to remain vigilant over their children, especially in this time when moral decadence is rampant in our society.

Sheikh Mukhtar Ahmad Madrasatu Hahatul Islam used the opportunity to present Sheikh Ahmad Gumi the book he wrote and published in 2011 titiled “Al mu inu fi hifzul Qur’anic Karim”.

Before the end of the ceremony, old students of the school had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Gumi.

Some of the old students include Professor Usman Zuraini of the Faculty of Law, BUK, Mal Abubakar Abdussamad, Mal Ibrahim Abdurrashid, Mal Gali, Barrister Abdurrahaman Alkali, Malam Zailani, Ibrahim Abdussamad, among others.

Some of the Ulamas and diginataries that attended the ceremony are Sheikh Ahmad Suleiman of Markas Ibn Taimiyya, Sheikh Mukhtar Muhammad, Sheikh Almisri Provost Abdullahi Aminchi College of Advanced Studies, Abubakar Aliyu and Sheikh Usman Abdurrashid.

Others are Mal.Ibrahim Sabilul Hidaya, Sani Hassan (Gogarma), Alh.Ma’azu Allaramma, Mal.Uzairu Dan Umma, Mal Ali Sani, Baffa Umar, Shuaibu Danagaji and commander Zila.
