Customs seizes illicit drugs at Seme, hands over to NDLEA

In a Media Brief, held on Wednesday, 31st March, 2021 at the ECOWAS Joint Border Post, Seme Kraka Border, Badagry, Lagos, Compt. Bello Mohammed Jibo has revealed that the Command will hand over intercepted parcels of cannabis sativa worth over 2 million naira to the NDLEA Command Seme.

Jibo also said that the Command also made a seizure of 705 items with a duty paid value of N409.8 million.

He further said, the Command recorded a trade Volume of three hundred and forty eight million, eight hundred and twenty seven thousand, seven hundred and seventy five metric tons of exported goods, with the free on board FOB value of over 4 billion.

He added that, the command benefited from the welfare package of the Comptroller General of Customs with the construction of 32, 30 and 16 man ranks and files Barracks to cover the inadequacy of accommodation in the command.

The Command also, constructed a modern convenience at the international Park, J4 in Seme Badagry West to assist travellers both locally and internationally as a form of Cooperate Social Responsibility

The Command has also partnered with an NGO named community Football Foundation for the establishment of a football Club named Badagry, United.

The overall revenue remitted into the Federation account is eighty million, seven hundred and seventy seven thousand, eight hundred and seven naira, twenty two kobo (N80, 774,807.22) only during the period under review.

The CAC thanked the Comptroller General of Customs and the Management team for the continuous support and guidance.
