Court asked to restrain El-Rufai from crowning Bamalli as Zazzau emir

Justice Kabir Dabo of Kaduna State High Court has been asked to grant an interim order restraining Kaduna State Government from crowning Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli as Emir of Zazzau.

Iyan Zazzau Bashar Aminu, who is challenging the appointment of Bamalli as emir, prayed the court for:

An order of interim injunction restraining the Defendants/Respondents, especially the first Defendant/Respondent whether by himself, agents, officers, aides, appointees etc. whomsoever and howsoever otherwise from installing, crowning, recognizing and dealing with any person whosoever
especially the 11th” Defendant/Respondent as the Emir of Zazzau and or in any manner authorizing, aiding, abetting, performing and or executing any ceremony for the purpose of installing any person especially the 11th Defendant/Respondent as the Emir ot Zazzau pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice.

An order of interim injunction restraining the 11th Defendant/Respondent (Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu
Bamalli) from parading himself as the Emir of Zazzau and/or presenting, offering himself for the purposes of any coronation, installation and or presentation of Staff of Office as the Emir of Zazzau pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice.

And for such further order or orders as this Honourable Court may deem fit to make in the circumstance.

Came up for hearing on 19th October, 2020 before Honourable Justice K. Dabo – Judge.

After hearing 5 paragraphs affidavit in support of the motion exparte by S. ATTUNG Esq., with Mercy Umaru Esq., and Y.B. Galadima Esq. for the plaintiff/applicant, the judge ordered that all the defendants/respondents be served with the motion on notice and the originating process filed in this suit.

“For the motion on notice dated 16th October 2020, the defendants/Respondents are given 6 days upon service on them of the processes, if need be, to respond to same.

“Accelerated hearing is ordered for the
motion on notice. he principal parties in the case are hereby ordered not to take any step to render nugatory the outcome of the motion on notice.

“The date for the hearing of the motion on
notice shall be the 27th day of October, 2020. The registrar of this court is directed to
ensure prompt service of all the processes
on the parties affected,” papers in possession of Dateline Nigeria showed.

Respondents/Defendants are Governor Nasir El-Rufai; Attorney-General of Kaduna State; Kaduna State Council of Chiefs; Zazzau Emirate Council; Wazirin Zazzau, Ibrahim Aminu; Fagachin Zazzau, Umaru Muhammad; Mohammad Abbas, Makama Karamin Zazzau; Dalhatu Kasimu Imam, Limamin Juma’an Zazzau; Mohammad Sani Aliyu, Limamin Konan Zazzau; Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th defendants in the suit.
