President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful.
Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu disclosed this via a posting on his social media handles on Monday. He however did not elaborate.

“Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa, has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident,” Shehu said.
The presidential spokesman did not state if any arrest had been made over the incident.
Dateline Nigeria reports that Gambari’s predecessor Abba Kyari lived in the Defence House, outside of the presidential villa.
