The All Progressives Congress (APC) led by the Chairman of the National Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Governor of Yobe State Mai Mala Buni, has formally received Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi into the party in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State.
Also in the special delegatiom who were in Ebonyi at the instance of President Muhammadu Buhari include Governors Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger), Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), and Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa).
Others include Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, and former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani.
In his remarks to welcome Governor Umahi into the APC fold, leader of the delegation, Governor Mai Mala Buni informed the gathering that President Muhammadu Buhari who is the leader of the Party and all the APC members across the country are delighted about the decision of the Ebonyi State Governor.
Governor Buni then announced the formation of a Caretaker Committee that will manage the affairs of the party in the State.
He said the committee was constituted based on consultations and in line with the party’s constitution.
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello in his own words said his Ebonyi State counterpart will not regret joining the progressives.
In his address, Governor Umahi of Ebonyi State who led members of the State and National Assembly members from the State, State Cabinet members, party leaders, stakeholders as well as teeming supporters into the APC, appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari, all the achievements made under the ruling party and all members of his new party for accepting him into the APC family.
