Buni approves scholarships for 233 Yobe students

Governor Mai Mala Buni approved full sponsorship of 233 Yobe youths for various undergraduate paramedic courses in India.

This is to address the skill gap in secondary and tertiary healthcare sector in the state.

The governor is investing over 400m in the beneficiaries, most of whom are from poor homes.

The Executive Secretary Yobe State Scholarships Board, Dr Abubakar Kagu, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity.

He recalled that the last time he was at the scholarships board before his appointment, he was also a scholar pursuing payments for his PhD tuition in the UK. But when he returned to the building in 2019, he was to take over as the chief executive of the board.
