The management of Bayero University Kano (BUK) has introduced new measure to beef security within the university campuses.
Dateline Nigeria reports that this a coming 24-hours after students of the institution protested the worsening insecurity within and around the school after the killing of a young man by phone snatchers.
The management has directed that henceforth no person will be allowed entry into the university premises without proper identification, according to a .statement issued by the University Secretary, Information and Publication Division, Malam Lamara Garba.
The statement said the directive is to curtail bad elements from entering the university campuses.
‘’Members of the university community are therefore requested to give maximum cooperation to security personnel in this respect,” the statement added
